Stephie's classes are too awesome for you to understand?
Or they are just awesomely no sense?
Or you just want to learn algebra with me?
Or you think I'm thwe best(but not the aewsomest)?
Or you have any other good reason to follow my class?

If you answered yes to some of these questions you are at the good spot for Bob's basic algebra classes!

Every 1 or 2 weeks(trying more one than two) I'll post a new basic thing about algebra using edit and you can post comment down there.
If you want to follow the class, reply, but there will be an homework at all classes and when I'm done with classes I'll find a way to give a goooood reward(forum wise or if the game is out that could be a custom icon/verb etc...) to the one that got the most points(1 points=1 good aswer in homework) to give the homework, PM me

Students( the number dont matter)(Max number of points for now:17 for 3 HW):

What is a basic algebra problem part 1 of 2

To make it easy to understand, algebra is when you use a letter instead of a number when you don't know what number it is

ex: 2a+4b-3c=6

That one is an hard problem that we can't really because there is too much answers!But a basic problem is like this:

2a=4

We will solve problems like this in the next class

So,in that problem, there is three parts

2= It's the number of a there is in the problem. It means there is 2 times a. so if a would be 3 that would make 6
a= that's the number you don't know.It can be negative,positive,multiplied,divided etc.
4= That's a normal nuumber e_e

Homework:(PM me with answers)(for 3 pts)
1-What is algebra?
2-True or false?this problem is impossible to solve? 3a=7
3-In 6b=12,what does the "b" represents?

What is a basic algebra problem part 2 of 2
solving

The first case of an algebra problem is like this, there is a letter on one side and a number on the other

ex:
a=3
b=5
c=9

To solv ean algebra problem, we always need to come back to that case.
There are a lot of forms of algebra problems. In this class I,ll teach you how to solve problems like I showed in last class and in next class, still easy, but with more letters/numbers in it.

so, I'll show you the four possible things.

ex 1:
6a=24
As you see, that's like a+a+a+a+a+a=24.
So, to solve that I'll show you the method then explain it
6a=24
__ __
6 6
a = 4

We divided by six on both sides, so the both sides are still proportionnal.
And we are back to the asic form, when a=4
that means the number you don't know is 4

ex #2
a/2=2
x2 x2
a =4
The answer is still 4, The way to do it is the same, except for that we must do a/2 times 2 to get to a. The thing to do in algebra when there is only one letter is to keep that letter alone on one side.

ex. #3:
a+2=6
-2 -2
a = 4
still a=4. We just had to do it by substracting 2 on both sides

ex.#4:
a-2=2
+2 +2
a =4
I don'T think I need to explain again...

And by the way, the letter don't matter if there is only one letter

so if that's c instead of a that stay the same.

IN next class, problems with negatives numbers.
In 2 classes: bigger problems
IN 3 classes:parenthesis(sp?)

Homework(maximum of 10 points, YOU NEED TO USE THE METHOD AND SHOW IT WITH THE ANSWERS LIKE I DID TO EXPLAIN)What you must do, make all the problems to the a=4 form(the letter and number will change depending on the problem e_e)

1)4+a=6
2)b+10=22
3)50+c=76
4)d-9=12
5)e-82=2
6)23f=46
7)50g=250
8)3h=78
9)x/12=4
10)y/5=65

Basic problems with negatives.

That class is an easy one,

Let show a basic problem with a negative number,

-4+b=5
+4 +4
b=9,same as substracting...

b--4=5
b+4=5
-4 -4
b=1

Her we have a minu time another minus,which makes a plus...

-4b=8
/-4 /-4
b = -2

Son't forget that a + and a + makes a +
a + and a - makes a -
a - and a + makes a -
a - and a - makes a +
when it's for multyplying(sp?) and dviding(sp?)

b/-2=4
x-2 x-2
b =-8

PS:-b =-1b

HOmework(max 4 points)

Solve the problems with negatives
1) -8+c=12
2) c--4=20
3) -5b=20
4)c/-14=-2

Bigger Problems

A not long at all class
It's like small ones or almost

a+6 =3a+4
transfers then numbers on one side
a+6=3a+4
-4 -4
a+2=3a
Then transfer the letters on the other side
a+2=3a
-a -a
2 =2a
Then solve
1 =a

Or to be faster

a+6=3a+4
-a-4 -a-4
2 = 2a
/2 /2
1 =a

HW:Max 3 points

Solve the problems

3a+4=2a/6
5b+6=b-9
c-4=c/6-2
